Professional Background
I received my Masters in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of
Maryland (UMD) in 2019 and was fortunate enough to join Family Therapy
Center of Bethesda (FTCB) as an associate shortly after. I went on to
complete my PhD in Maternal and Child Health at UMD in 2023, and during
my doctoral work, my research focused primarily on mental health outcomes
in the perinatal population.
At FTCB, I provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families at various transition points in their lives. Whether a transition is chosen and actively pursued or thrown at you when you least expect it, these points in life are often quite overwhelming. They often come with anxiety, many decisions, and self-doubt. I know the enormous impact that social support, guidance, and resources can have in these moments, and I strive to work with my clients to support them through whatever they are going through.
In addition to therapy, I also provide coaching support to individuals and co-
parents as they navigate a separation or divorce. In my role as a coach, I can
help you:
- Learn strategies to better manage and regulate your emotions
- Learn strategies to better communicate with your co-parent in a child-
oriented way - Develop communication protocols that can be used long-term
- Create a parenting plan
As a divorce or co-parenting coach, I strive to empower my clients to move
beyond conflict and build a cooperative, child-focused co-parenting
relationship. I do this by providing tools, resources, and support to help
parents communicate more effectively, establish healthy boundaries, and
create consistency across households.
My Therapy Style
Ultimately, I believe that my clients know themselves and their relationships best, and I strive to meet them where they are and guide them on their journey to achieve their goals. I strive to create a space where clients can explore their emotions and develop new patterns of thinking, behaving, and interacting with others. I work to co-create with my clients what they would like to achieve through the course of therapy, and I aim to create a collaborative relationship.
