Professional Background

I am incredibly grateful for the experiences that have shaped me into the therapist I am today and prepared me for my work here at the Family Therapy Center of Bethesda! I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland before moving to Philadelphia to earn my Master’s degree in Couples and Family Therapy from Drexel University.

During graduate school, I worked at a nonprofit agency where I provided trauma-informed care to individuals navigating substance use challenges and supported young mothers during pivotal and often overwhelming life transitions. This experience deepened my commitment to meeting clients with empathy, respect, and an understanding of the complex systems that shape their lives. I later transitioned into private practice, where I worked with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, and major life transitions.

Currently, I work full-time at Eating Recovery Center in Bethesda, where I support both children and adults struggling with eating disorders and body image concerns.

My Therapy Style

As a therapist working with individuals, couples, and families, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to provide practical tools for managing thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, a lot of my work is also grounded in Family-Based Therapy (FBT). I specialize in using FBT in the treatment of eating disorders, drawing from evidence-based models. However, I extend this family-centered, systemic lens to all areas of my practice, recognizing that people and their challenges do not exist in isolation. I am committed to tailoring therapy to each client’s unique story, relationships, and strengths—there is no one-size-fits-all model in my work!

A Little Bit About Me Outside of the Therapy Room

You can usually find me wandering a farmers market or checking out a new restaurant. I love all things food — cooking at home, trying new dishes, and experimenting in the kitchen. Traveling whenever I can is a must, and I’ve got a growing bucket list of places I can’t wait to explore:)
