“Today, our relationship might be different but
our goals for our children are still the same.”

Parent Coordination

Co-parenting after separation or divorce is challenging—especially when communication has broken down or ongoing conflict continues to affect children. Parent Coordination is a child-focused process designed to help parents reduce conflict, improve communication, and make day-to-day parenting decisions more effectively and without involvement from the courts.

As a Parent Coordinator, our role is to help co-parents implement the parenting plan, resolve disputes, and keep the focus where it belongs: on the well-being of your children. The Parent Coordinator will work to help you:

  • Improve communication and reduce conflict
  • Clarify and implement existing parenting plans
  • Assist with resolving disagreements before they escalate
  • Promote consistency across both households
  • Help parents make child-centered decisions
  • Reduce children’s exposure to parental conflict

Who Can Benefit from Parent Coordination?

Parent Coordination is often appropriate for families who:

  • Experience frequent disagreements about parenting decisions
  • Struggle with communication after separation or divorce
  • Have repeated conflicts regarding schedules, exchanges, or routines
  • Need support implementing a parenting plan
  • Want to reduce the emotional impact of conflict on their children
  • Have been referred by the court or their attorneys

The focus is always on helping parents work together more effectively in ways that support their children’s emotional health and development. In sessions, your parent coordinator will work to hear both parents, understand their perspectives, and encourage them to work toward practical resolutions that work for their family.
