Take a break: How many times as a parent are you exhausted but have a to do list that has somehow grown to the length of the fridge? I know that I find it hard to take a break when I have that to do list running through my head. However, taking breaks is important for your mental, emotional, and physical health. The dishes will still be there in 20 minutes but the opportunity to take a breather might not be. Next time the kids are at school or at a friend’s house, or down for a nap, take 20 minutes to yourself to just sit and relax. Read a book, watch that show you are behind on, or just do nothing. Your mind and body will thank you.
